Post Thanksgiving at the Sciortinos

Not having our fill of family adventures, we drove down to Leeton, Missouri after Thanksgiving to visit Jordan's sister, Joci, her family and also Jordan's parents who were also visiting for Thanksgiving. 

Joci has 4 girls and her youngest is a boy who is just a few days older than Lily. At first Johnny was upset when we got there because, as he said, "Uncle Jordan brought more SISTERS!" LOL- poor boy thought Uncle Jordan would be bringing a young boy playmate and was quite disappointed to find that our family is just as estrogen heavy as his own. 

Lily was in heaven with 4 older girls to play with - 2 of which love to play dress up! Lily was Kelly's and Kimberly's shadow for 3 days. 

Johnny did eventually warm up to Lily - they seemed to have an agreement - he played prince charming at the ball and Lily played blocks and trains with him. 

Lucy and Lily soon learned that if they needed help, Katlyn and Katrina were the ones to go to for help, they are quite the responsible, loving big cousins/sisters.

Jocilyn was, of course, a sweet hostess, regardless of having her own farm and her neighbors farm to take care of. Oh, and 2 of her children are home schooled. Somehow, she still made delicious gluten free meals, and had fun festive activities planned for the kiddos, such as graham cracker house building.  I consider myself very lucky in in-laws. I adore each of them, and Joci is no exception. She is thoughtful, open minded and easy to chat with. 

Joci caught on camera a scene that is quite common at our household. My girls think it's fascinating to clean inbetween their toes. Lucy started the trend when she was just over a year old and, when bored in the car, found that cleaning toes was a way to pass the time. Lily thought it was a great idea, and now my girls consistently have the cleanest toes on the block. 

Another fun activity was to make ornaments with q-tips and yarn. Lily loved this fun craft! She made like 5 of them!

No trip of mine is complete without a good book!

As I mentioned before, I am lucky in my in-laws. Jordan's parents are a wonderful example for Jordan and I of two strong people who are very different, but love and respect each other. 

Joci is ridiculously musically talented, and her children all seemed to have inherited her talent and love for music. One night they were the intermission entertainment for a local dinner and melodrama. Both the melodrama and the intermission entertainment were fun. Joci's girls were fabulous and Lily and Lucy had fun participating in the melodrama, although they didn't understand the story line. Lucy was a little over zealous with the whole throw-popcorn-at-the-villain part. We were sitting in the back of the small audience due to our small children, and Lucy was so excited to constantly throw popcorn at the villain that she sometimes didn't see that a nice grandma was in between her and the stage. Whoops. Sorry random nice lady for the popcorn thrown at your head!

Another part of the intermission was a Christmas carol sing-a-long. Lucy got confused during the chorus of the Little Drummer Boy. Instead of "par rum pum pum pum", she instead pointed to her backside and sang, "Here is my bum!".
