I am a little behind on pictures due to some unfortunate computer situations. However for my future self I need to write down some memories .
Today (February 18, 2013): Lily is 3.5 and Lucy is 19 months.
Lily:
We were singing a random song on our way home from the gym and the words were, "I love Lucy because she is so cute" And Lily added at the end, "and Squeaky!"
After that we played the Happy Game. It's a game I made up one day when I was a little grumpy. I shout out things that I love and then at the end I say, "I am HAPPY!". Lily caught on and asked if she could have a turn and now we play it even when we are already happy. Today the things that she loved were, Mommy, Daddy, Lucy, Riding her bike, Getting dressed and her cousins (probably meaning Sam, Hannah, Michelle, Ben, Laney and Cali).
She has recently learned how to peel off stickers herself and this morning I couldn't get her paper fast enough so she started decorating Lucy with stickers. Lucy was soon covered from her toes to her cheeks in stickers.
Lily has recently decided that after 2 years of pink being her favorite color, to switch it to yellow. This is also connected to her decision that Belle is her new favorite princess. Although the Pinkalicious is still her favorite book series (along with anything princess). She also loves to hear stories about Princess Lily and Princess Lucy
Lily is fully potty trained. We started a little after her third birthday and she picked up the peeing part in seriously 5 hours. We started one afternoon and that evening she went and put herself on the potty when she had to pee. I can count how many peeing accidents she had on one hand. Poo was a little more difficult. It wasn't until Christmas time when I showed her a pack of Princess Figurines from the Disney Store and told her that each time she poops in the potty she could pick out a princess. It took 14 different princesses but she only had one accident once we offered that bribe. And it was nice because she could see the princesses slowly getting picked away and so when they were gone she knew they were gone and didn't ask for anymore treats when she went poop.
She loves to dance. She would rather watch the ballet than children's tv shows. She lives for her dance classes and preschool classes. But I'm still her best friend. I know it won't last forever that she would rather sit by me in primary than her friends or hold my hand and go down the slide together. Yesterday for church I was wearing a belt and she took one of her necklaces and turned it into a belt and wore it all day. I will enjoy it while I can.
Yesterday in church she saw her friend Jack holding his brand new baby brother and so Lily kept asking to hold Lucy. Lucy wasn't very happy about that.
Lily has her first crush. It's her friend Jacks' older brother, Sam (5/6 years old). She even made him a valentine and tries to hold his hand in primary. However, right now she wants to marry her Daddy (aka prince charming). A few months ago she wanted to marry Lucy in the temple but now she says I can marry Lucy.
Her friends are, Lily Smith, Chloe Frohm, Hannah Hunt, Jersey and Irelyn Barrios, Jack and Sam Lillywhite.
If asked, her favorite shape is a rhombus, her favorite animals are giraffes and kangaroos.
She loves to be a big girl. I love it when she looks at me and asks, "How are you doing today Mom?" and the other day when Lucy pushed her Lily said, "Lucy, I'm disappointed in you."
Lucy
Lucy has recently started talking a little bit more. She says "yeah" in the cutest little girl voice. It melts my heart each time. She also says, cheese (cheeeeeeeeeez) and milk and water (wawa). Blue is her favorite color. It is also the only color she can say. But when given the choice between colors she will pick blue 9 out of 10 times.
I've decided that Lucy acts more like she is growing up with 3 older brothers instead of a princess ballerina sister. Lucy is very sweet and loves little babies, but she can definitely hold her own against bigger kids. And her preferred playtime interaction is usually a little rough.
She is a ham. She love to preform for strangers (as long as they don't try to hold her!). Church time is show time in her mind.
She is going to be a warm climate girl. She hates socks and shoes. I can't keep them on her for the life of me. She hates coats and has a low cold tolerance and a high heat tolerance.
She also won't keep anything in her hair. She loves to get her hair done, so I put an elastic in it every day, but the longest it's lasted was 30 minutes. No bows or headbands either. She looks like she has bed hair every day. Even after I brush it. I figure it's her hairstyle of choice and she walks around like she owns it so I leave it be.
At her 18 month check up her stats were
Weight: 21 lbs (17th percentile)
Height: 50th percentile
For being in a low weight percentile, she has the cutest buddah belly (which she gladly lifts up her shirt to shows to anyone who so much as smiles at her). I think most of her weight just goes there. I'm sure she'll loose it eventually like Lily did, but it's so cute!
Her fine and gross motor are still ahead of her age but she's a little behind on talking. That might be due to some symptomless ear infections we've found during 2 of her well baby check ups or she has just chosen to focus on motor skills instead of talking. At the time of her appointment a month ago she was only saying 3 words. Now she is talking a lot more so I think she's pretty much caught up on the talking part.
Cats are her favorite animal. Hands down. She likes dogs, but LOVES cats. Sometimes when we can't get her to calm down we just put on cat videos on YouTube for her to watch and she goes from screaming grumpy to screaming happy.
