Christmas 2013

Lucy has a slight fascination with holding her elastic hairbands in her fingers. I believe this is partially why she never keeps the elastic in her hair - because she eventually looses the elastic she had in her fingers, and then uses the one in her hair as a back-up. There has been many tears over "Where my elastic?!!!"  

Crazy hair watch - still crazy - but I believe we've finally gotten rid of the mullet.

Christmas Eve festivities - we invited our good friends, the Wang's over for dinner and marshmallow roasting.

Our little Christmas Eve Present to the girls were new PJ's and a movie. I found a Cinderella nightgown for Lily and Lily could not believe that she could wear the dress to bed!

The girls were so excited about their stockings presents that they almost completely forgot the hoard of presents under the tree.

The first thing Lily wanted to do was make a thank you letter to Santa for the presents in their stockings. 

Around 11:30 am we were able to convince them to start unwrapping presents. And with each present opened, they wanted to open the packaging and try out their new toys. Each Lego duplo set had to be completely built before moving onto the next present. The whole present opening process took 3 hours!

We saved the best present for last! Lily has been asking for a baby sister for over a year. We were beyond excited to tell her that she was going to be a big sister again. We specifically held off telling anybody besides immediate family that we are expecting so that we could tell Lily on Christmas morning, even though I was already showing at 4 months. 

Her reaction wasn't quite what we were hoping it would be. She barely even responded to the news. We knew Lucy would be clueless but we were hoping Lily would be happy since she loves babies and has been asking for another sibling. We didn't push it, but later in the evening when we were video chatting with family Lily said, "I don't want another baby sister, I already have a sister!" 

A few days later she started to get super excited about the baby - I think it just took time to sink in, and she said that she doesn't care if it's a boy or girl, she was just excited to have a baby sibling!
