Redwood Forest

We arrived in San Jose, California at 2 am Saturday - and when we woke up a few hours later and found 90 degree weather, our first order of business was to seek refuge in the shade of the most awesome trees in the world.
Tess packed a fun picnic - and we had fun running around in the picnic grounds since we were the only ones there.

Best friends at first sight!

After about an hour we finally started out little hike among tree giants.

This tree trunk is so old that it goes back to the time of Christ!

Jordan, this is what pregnancy feels like, 24 hours a day.

Although this looks similar to the cave that Catniss and Peeta seek refuge - it's actually the inside of a TREE!!!

The girl's favorite part was following the path to hunt the next number in the tree parade.

The girls were instant best friends. Our first morning, Laney came in the room and said, "Lily, come play!" Lily, who not only usually struggles with waking up grumps, but is also shy at first, jumped out of bed and without hesitation,  ran out of the room with Laney to play.

Inside yet another tree! Brad and Jordan could easily stand up in there.

After about a 1 mile hike, the girls were exhausted.

Even the girl who didn't walk one step was exhausted.

We all napped well!

Road Trip!!!

After finally getting all our stuff packed up Thursday night and passing the keys off to our future tenants, we got on the road and drove 1 whole hour to Just and AJ's. :) After resting from an exhausting day, it was nice to rest and start off the next day.
The girls did amazingly well on the road trip! Lily entertained herself with her "friends"

Salt Flats
Little Lucy was so exhausted that she was only awake for  about 4 hours of the 13 hour trip.

Deeth Starr Valley. Really? Just about an hour or so outside of Salt Lake on I-80

Post Honeymoon Romance

I decided this evening that true love is letting your wife hide in a peaceful bedroom to read a book while you (the knight in shining armor husband) single handed fight the ensuing chaos.

Jordan is my Knight, in an armor splatted with snot, chocolate ice cream, and peanut butter - and he's never been more attractive.

Love in the Afternoon

Jordan is frequently commenting on how impressed he is by his colleagues in the MBA program, and I absolutely have to agree. We made friends with the Ivins and Wilders right from the start and they are still my favorite people in the program. Us wives have regular meetings of the MBA widow club to remind ourselves that our insanity is perfectly normal.

No playdate is complete without Ring A Round the Rosie

I never saw Lucy so happy as she was jumping with her boyfriend!

Sunday Afternoon Drive

We figured it was high time Lucy learned to drive. I hear it will foster independence.
