Granny's Thanksgiving Visit 2013

My mom came to visit us for American Thanksgiving! First order of business was to tell her about her new little grandbaby that is on its way and to come June 13, 2014! Well, that was after we went to Costco and Red Robin for delicious hamburgers and chocolate shakes :) We had to wait until the girls were in bed to tell her because we wanted to wait until Christmas to tell them. 

We spent a lot of time just being together at home, being together. We did go on several fun trips though! One big one was to spend the day in Indy. First stop was the children's museum - it had already been decorated for Christmas and had Santa waiting to hear the children's Christmas list. 

As always, the carousel is the favorite attraction.

In the Winter Wonderland was a Fun, soft, snowball fight! Lily surprised us by getting in the fight with all the bigger kids! She hung out more towards the back, but she still held her own.

Lucy was having second thoughts about her visit to Santa. Lily however was willing to sit on his lap long enough to tell him that she wanted a Cinderella wedding dress for Christmas.

After the Children's Museum, Jordan took the girl's home while my mom and I went to the Indy museum of art. After that we went to dinner, and then as apart of her birthday present, we went to see Wicked - it was lucky that the traveling Broadway happened to be in town at the same time as my mom. I bought the tickets as soon as I found out months ago, but I didn't tell my mom until she got here for her visit. It was absolutely amazing.

Another adventure was to visit a nearby cavern. 

After the cavern we went to see the famous "Lights Under Louisville." There is a huge cavern under Louisville and every year they put on a Christmas light show that we can drive through and see from our car. 

Lucy ready for her Thanksgiving Feast! She didn't like most of it with the exception of the turkey and my mom's delicious rolls. To be honest, Thanksgiving doesn't feature my favorite food either. However, tradition is fun. Jordan did an amazing job cooking the turkey! One would have never known it was his first time! 

Immediately after Thanksgiving, it was time to decorate for Christmas! Lily and Lucy had so much fun helping with the Christmas tree and the nativity sets.

Lily loved the Disney ornaments, but she also loved the little angel ornament. 

We all went to see Frozen together during my mom's visit - luckily before all the hype - I don't know if it would have met my expectations if I had heard all the things people are saying about it, now, but going in knowing nothing about it, we enjoyed it. Well, except Lily - she was really scared during the Marshmallow part. When I asked Lucy at the end what her favorite part was, she got a concentrated look on her face, open and closed her mouth a few times as if trying to figure out how to explain in her toddler vocabulary, she finally threw her arms up and said, "Crack!". I think she was referring to Elsa building the ice castle, but really, who knows. 

My mom went Black Friday shopping with me, and bought Lily the Elsa figurine - and although Lily didn't really understand the movie at the time, but soon Elsa replaced Cinderella as her favorite princess.
