Summer Fun

At the children's museum - they put on children's plays and the current one is "Mulan Jr." - it's 45 minutes long and while it's not Broadway quality, I'd say it's university quality. Lily and Lucy, who previously had not interest in the Mulan movie, now love the story of Mulan - we've seen the play 3 times.

Darling baby toes!

They currently have a traveling Terra Cotta solider exhibit at the museum and they did a fun presentation in the lobby where a soldier "came to life" - Lily and Lucy had very different reactions. Lily ran away soon after Jordan snapped this picture and hid around the corner until we were ready to go.

Lucy is working on becoming a "big girl" and Lily is one of her biggest supporters, eager to teach what she knows. Lily encourages Lucy to sit on her princess potty and stays with her so she doesn't get bored. It doesn't hurt that when Lucy successfully goes potty we all get a potty treat - I mean, Lily and I are doing just as much work, if not more when accident clean-ups are calculated in.

We love rain showers! There was quite the storm one night, and they look like they jumped in the bathtub fully clothed not just from the downpour because they jumped into a very large and knee deep puddle - and then laid down in it - several times.

Grandma and Grandmpa Elliss's presents from their Hawaii trip

There are worse things her sisters can do to her when I'm not looking.

Our good friend Cindy and little Lexi during the wards annual summer pool party.

Lily has always adored babies, and has always sought them out. Here is one of her favorites, baby Sarah (although she almost isn't a baby anymore).

Lily with her friends Megan and MacKenzie. It's a little frustrating that Lily missed the school's cut off date by 20 days - so while her girlfriends are only a few months older than her all (and I mean each and every one) are going to kingdergarden this fall while she has to wait another year. There are a few boys in our ward that will be in her grade, but she will be the only lds girl. I guess it will be a great opportunity for missionary work.

Our friend Cindy's darling little boy, Liam.

Squishy

Lucy insisted that Lexi come over and be indoctrinated in the values of princesses.

Indiana seriously has awesome thunderstorms - on this night we did our bedtime routine outside on the balcony. Jordan is currently reading to the girls my absolute favorite childhood book - Little Witch. It's their first chapter book and Lily had a hard time the first night when the first chapter didn't have a happy ending - but she is loving getting a little bit of the story each night.
