Happy Birthday Lily-Kins! August 2013

Lily's favorite birthday present! It will also double as her Halloween costume. She loved Belle for so long, and then within 1 day, her fascination switched to Cinderella. 

Luckily, Lily's birthday is in the summer and since we cannot accommodate all of her friends in our apartment, we went to the local park for the festivities. 

First off in the park games was the sugar cube balance.

It's her party and she can cry if she wants to.

And if one cannot succeed in balancing a sugar cube on the spoon, one can "just eat it".

"I do it myself!"

Goofy Cayman had other ideas for his balloon.

Lily and her preschool buddy, sunbeam friend, and betrothed, Hudson.

Lucy was excited about it being "her turn" (BTW - I did style her hair prior to the party, but, Lucy had other plans for her hair).

Somehow either the bat or the butterfly pinata offended Lucy and she was upset until the candy finally spilled out.

Quinn knows what to do with a bat.

This girl had been looking forward to this moment for a year. Everyone standing around her, singing "Happy Birthday Dear Lily".

"Don't forget to make a wish!"

Our good friends from the MBA program were interning at Cummins this summer - Carol Soares and her son Benjamin - her husband received a full time job offer and they will be coming back next fall!

The best way, if not the most proper, to eat a cupcake.

And if the birthday girl does it, so can everyone else.

Lily and Maya - Maya is older than Lily, but she is so sweet to Lily and Lily looks up to her.

Lily's Sunbeam buddy- O'Malley. She's a "I can slay my own Dragon" kind of princess. They make a great team!

Sugar high! This was easily one of the best days of Lily's life - according to her. According to me, it was when she could go to the bathroom without my needing to wipe her bum or any other assistance. Understandably, our perspectives on what makes a "fabulous day" have differing criteria. 

This picture is just for future memories. We're having a hard time teaching Lily that princesses don't point with their middle fingers :)
